Ellison Elementary School Wide Expectations

The Ellison school community strives to encourage positive behaviour by building on student success. The following student expectations were developed through the collaborative efforts of students and staff. Throughout the year all students participate in a variety of experiences to gain an understanding of each expectation. We look towards you in supporting these positive expectations at home. Please take time to go over these expectations with your child.

Be Caring	be polite share include others solve conflict peacefully	be considerate quiet voices walk	follow classroom expectations	wait your turn notify office if there is a problem quiet voices	listen focus use appropriate applause	practice good manners	include others in play play fair wait your turn	respect bus line order
Be Safe	keep hands,feet and objects to self make safe choices use equipment appropriately	enter and exit school safely use designated doors	follow classroom expectations	flush toilet wash hands with soap and water	follow directions use self control	keep hands, feet and objects to self	stay in designated areas walk bikes carry sports equipment	remain appropriately seated walk safely on and off the bus
Be Respectful	follow dress code respect other's opinion use appropriate language leave gum at home	hats off respect displays carry sports equipment	follow classroom expectations	respect privacy of others	enter and exit quietly use audience manners	stay seated clean up eating area	respect environment and neighbour's property	use quiet voices listen to and follow bus driver's instructions
Be Responsible	Reduce, Reuse, Recycle respect other's belongings be prepared and be on time	keep hallways dry and clean use a phone pass keep phone calls short and courteous	follow classroom expectations	keep washroom clean go directly return promptly	sit in assigned areas	leave classroom at bell put garbage and recycling in containers	come in promptly when bell rings put garbage in containers	be on time keep bus clean
